Mineralized structures within the Segovia Batholith frequently occur at intersections of N-S oriented quartz vein ore shoots and SW-NE oriented shear zones containing aphanitic dykes that deflect mineralization parallel to the shears.
Step-out exploration for extension of mineralization along the SW-NE oriented shear is supported by historical limits on artisanal mining at Guia Antigua as well as other artisanal mines that exploited the Guia Antigua vein for 300-400 m south, and to the northeast of the historical mining limits.
Previous mine operators reported average grades of 466 g/t Ag and 7.44 g/t Au from the Guia Antigua mine. GCG check assay programs reported an average of 151 g/t Ag and 15 g/t Au over a 29- sample check assay program.
Ore from Chicharron can be processed at Gran Colombia's Maria Dama Merrill-Crowe process facility located 4.4 km from the Guia Antigua mine. Payable metal recoveries of 90% gold and 60% silver are expected.
